Sandy's travels through the Valley were relatively mellow, but our thoughts and support go out to those who were more affected by this super storm. We have a lot of friends in the NY/NJ/CT/MA area and hope everyone is okay and recovering quickly. We have some friends in West Virginia at Whitegrass too, and hope they are enjoying their feet of snow. Don't worry, it'll snow here soon.

The remnants of Sandy are still lingering about and there is actually a chance of snow for the next four days, especially at elevation. After that, night temps stay cold, but day temps look a little warm for making flakes. When we get a long enough weather window, the snow guns will fire. Stay tuned for updates.
Looking ahead, Opening Day is still scheduled for November 17th. However, regardless of Mother Nature's cooperation, the Big Kicker at the Big Picture season kick-off party is going to happen that evening. Join Sugarbush and Mad River Glen for a freestyle exhibition, the world premier of the new Meatheads movie, No Matter What, music from the Big Basin Band and more!
Sandy's impacts in the Valley were pretty minor.

Stick season vista. Moss Glen Falls.
Stick season is officially here and winter is just around the corner. It's time to get ready. Ramp up your workouts, pull out your gear and get it prepped, make sure your snow tires are on, and that your access and accomodations plans are in order.
We hope to see you soon!

p.s. Some recent local fun guy.

Oyster mushrooms are plentiful right now. They contain a naturally occuring form of Lovastatin, a cholesterol-lowering compound. So a bacon-oyster omelot, on balance, is probably good for you.
The latest chanterelle I've ever found.
