Two weeks of boot camp are now over and the results are in. Nine of us participated in Katrina's daily 6:30 AM sessions at the SHaRC. We lost a cumulative 65 pounds and many inches, ate healthily, and despite some fatigue are feeling great. Our cross-training focused on endurance, cardio, and strength -- and it really worked. I am motivated to keep going and really be ready for what I hope is going to be a long and snowy winter with plenty of fresh powder and soft moguls.
We have had a fabulous stretch of weather. While the past couple of days have been a bit warmer and muggier than normal, we have not experienced the dreadful heat that most in the USA have faced. Now it is time for some rain, and I think we are going to see some intense thunderstorms and heavy rain at times today. Then we are in for some fantastic weather for the weekend, cooler and sunny.
Activity is picking up as we head into August, our busiest summer month. The annual month-long Festival of the Arts gets better each year and will begin with the Taste of the Valley here at Sugarbush on Monday, August 6th. Make sure to get your tickets now, since this event always sells out. I look forward to seeing you there.
