Self-Guided Adventures: Set your own pace and explore our designated snowshoe trails, perfect for those who crave solitude and discovery.
Guided Tours: Embark on a journey along the Gate House trail into the breathtaking Slide Brook Wildlife Management Area. Led by experienced guides, these tours provide an engaging and educational way to immerse yourself in the winter wilderness.
Special Tours: Elevate your adventure with unique experiences like our Fireworks Tours, where you can snowshoe under the stars and end the evening with a dazzling fireworks display.

Self-Guided Tours
Take in the serene beauty of Sugarbush’s winter landscape with snowshoeing at both Lincoln Peak and Mt. Ellen. Whether you're enjoying a quiet trek through the woods or searching for signs of wildlife, we offer both self-guided and guided snowshoe experiences.
Lincoln Peak Trails:

- Village Woods Trail
Mt. Ellen Trail:
- Lockwood Loop Trail
Hours of Operation: 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM daily (conditions permitting).
Snowshoe Rental Rates: $36/pair per day, available at our rental shops in The Farmhouse building at Lincoln Peak and downstairs in the Mt. Ellen Base Lodge. Advanced reservations required. Please call 802.583.6504 to reserve your gear.
Additional Information:- Snow boots are required.
- Layered clothing and a day pack are recommended for comfort and convenience.

Guided Snowshoe Tours
Embark on a captivating journey through the woods with one of our expert Guides, who will share fascinating insights about the natural features and wildlife of the area. Sugarbush’s terrain is home to a diverse range of animals, including black bears, moose, deer, coyotes, bobcats, fishers, ermines, owls, turkeys, and woodpeckers. While sightings of these creatures are rare, your guide will teach you how to interpret tracks, spot scarred trees, identify nipped branches, and recognize the unique sounds of the forest. Tours will take place in the woods surrounding Gate House or in the Slide Brook Basin, depending on the conditions of the day.
Rates: Includes guide and one lift ride up Gate House:
- Tour Package (with rentals): $115 per person
- Tour Only(without rentals): $95 per person
Tour Details:
- Duration: 2 – 2.5 hours
- Meet: The Farmhouse Building at Lincoln Peak
- Ages: 9+
- Requirements: Under 18 requires a release signed by a parent or guardian
- Snow Boots: Required
- Additional Gear: Layered clothing and a day pack recommended
- Dates/Times: Tours run daily from 10:00 AM Saturdays & Sundays, and daily during holidays (December 21, 2024 – March 30, 2025). Tours are weather dependent and subject to conditions.
- Holiday Periods: December 27, 2024 - January 1, 2025, January 18-19, 2025, and February 17-23, 2025
- Reservation Notice: Additional dates may be available with 48 hours' notice and a minimum of 2 participants. Please arrive early if renting equipment.

Guided Fireworks Snowshoe Tours
Join us for a festive celebration and enjoy a spectacular fireworks show from the top of Gate House! Start your evening with a scenic snowshoe excursion to the summit of the Gate House Quad, where you’ll indulge in hot chocolate at the Patrol Shack or on the deck while watching the fireworks light up the night sky.
The tour departs from The Farmhouse, takes you to the summit of Gate House Quad, and then returns to The Farmhouse. Please note, a moderate level of fitness is required for the uphill journey.
Tour Details:
- Duration: 2.5-3 hours
- Meet: The Farmhouse Building at Lincoln Peak
- Ages: 9+
- Requirements: Under 18 requires a release signed by a parent or guardian
- Snow Boots: Required
- Additional Gear: Layered clothing and a day pack recommended
- Conditions: Tours run based on weather and snow conditions
- Pets: Please leave pets at home
