Date & Time
May. 25, 2024
All day
Please note, this event has happened in the past.
All winter long we ride chairlifts up the mountain just so we can ski and ride back down them. Sitting on the chair in between laps is a time for camaraderie, reminiscing, planning, or perhaps just some well earned solitude. But now that experience doesn’t have to end when the lifts stop spinning. You can purchase your very own piece of Sugarbush history to bring home with you in the form of our old Heaven’s Gate Triple chairs.
We will be auctioning off 5 of these chairs at our soon to be annual Memorial Day Pig Jig at Mt. Ellen, silent auction style. Each chair will be benefitting a community partner of ours. See more information about each partner below.
Chair 1: Vermont Adaptive Ski & Sports
Chair 19: Hannah’s House
Chair 58: Mad River Valley Community Pantry
Chair 40: High Fives Foundation
Chair 84: Kelly Brush Foundation
Chair 22: Three Peaks Medical Clinic
Purchasers MUST pick-up chairs on the following dates between the hours of 11am and 4pm:
July 6th – 7th
July 13th – 14th
July 20th – 21st
- Heaven’s Gate chairs measure approximately 63”x76” and weigh 150 lbs. Add an additional 55” to each for the Hanger.
- A pickup truck or trailer, along with 2 able-bodied individuals and straps for securing the chair, will be needed to load and transport.
Pickup will be located behind the Gate House Lodge, please follow signs for pickup.

Who they are: High Fives was formed to create a
universal shift in adventure sports that expand on what is possible for those
who have experienced life-changing injuries. CEO and founder of High Fives, Roy
Tuscany, suffered a devastating spinal cord injury in 2006 while training in the
terrain park at Mammoth Mountain, California. From that point, he was committed
to becoming a leader in the education and recovery of life-altering injuries in
outdoor action sports for injured athletes and Veterans, so they can get back
to doing what they love. Today Sugarbush hosts several High Fives fundraising
events and sponsors them throughout the year.
